The Shofar is the ancient trumpet which called the people of God to prayer, repentance, sacrifice and war.

November 2003: IRAQI CHRISTIANS IN DANGER

Christians are being persecuted in Iraq, and an Islamic government is now almost inevitable, exactly as predicted in Christian Voice.  The American Government has been taken off-guard by the political developments, while its dream of a modern, secular Iraqi state now lies in ruins.

The Christians, meanwhile, have been associated by the Muslim neighbours as allies of the hated 'crusader' invaders and occupiers.  Christians are having to give up their businesses, and many are now in fear of their lives.  "Because America and Britain are Christian countries," said one Iraqi Christian, "they blame us for the war.  We are terrified.  We really don't know what the future will hold."

ABORTION
Meanwhile, family-planners are talking up the number of backstreet abortions being performed in post-Saddam Iraq, in a bid to promote free access to abortion.  An article in a British Sunday newspaper was the product of the current propaganda campaign.  Those with long memories will remember that exactly the same trick was carried out in both America and Britain, to pave the way for permissive abortion laws.  The figures were just invented, but they successfully moved opinion.  With an Islamic government now a certainty in Iraq, the activists from Planned Parenthood will find it less easy to legalise the shedding of innocent unborn blood in what will become a Muslim state.  Would that Christianity had been as resilient in Britain in 1967.
