The Shofar is the ancient trumpet which called the people of God to prayer, repentance, sacrifice and war.

Islam Versus the Bible

(Koran: Yusuf Ali’s translation.  Holy Bible: King James Version)

Is Allah, the god of Islam, the same as the God worshipped by Christians?  If he is, then the Koran will agree with the Bible.  And if the Koran does not agree with the Bible, we can safely assume it is coming from another spirit entirely.   Let us see what each has to say on certain topics:

Zachariah, father of John the Baptist:
Sura 19:10  (Zakariya) said: "O my Lord! give me a Sign." "Thy Sign," was the answer, "Shall be that thou shalt speak to no man for three nights, although thou art not dumb."

Luk 1:18  And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

Luk 1:19  And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.

Luk 1:20  And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.

Nine months later:

Luk 1:62  And they made signs to his father, how he would have him called.

Luk 1:63  And he asked for a writing table, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marvelled all.

Luk 1:64  And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, and praised God.

Ishmael or Isaac?:
At the Muslim feast of Eid-ul-Adha, Muslims celebrate their erroneous belief that Abraham was about to sacrifice Ishmael, the son of his wife’s servant Hagar, regarded as father of the Arabs, rather than Isaac, the son of his wife Sarah, the father of Israel .

Gen 22:7  And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

Gen 22:8  And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

Gen 22:9  And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

Enemies:
Sura 2:190  Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you,

Sura 2:191  And slay them wherever ye catch them,

Sura 2:194  If then any one transgresses the prohibition against you, transgress ye likewise against him.

Luk 6:27  But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

Luk 6:28  Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

Jesus; mere man or God incarnate:
Sura 3:59  The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: "Be". And he was.

Sura 5:17  In blasphemy indeed are those that say that Allah is Christ the son of Mary. Say: "Who then hath the least power against Allah, if His will were to destroy Christ the son of Mary?

Sura 5:75  Christ the son of Mary was no more than a messenger;

Joh 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Joh 1:14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The Holy Trinity:
Sura 5:73 They do blaspheme who say: Allah is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One Allah. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them.

Sura 5:116 And behold! Allah will say: "O Jesus the son of Mary! Didst thou say unto men, worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of Allah'?"

Mat 28:19  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Joh 20:28  And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

1Jo 5:7  For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Christ as the Son of God:
Sura 9:30  Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; Allah's curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth!

Sura 19:35 (Mary)  It is not befitting to (the majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son.

Sura 23:91  No son did Allah beget,

Luk 3:22  And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

Joh 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Christ’s Crucifixion:
Sura 4:157   they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, … for of a surety they killed him not:-

Mat 27:35  And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.

1Co 2:2  For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

Jesus, Second Person of the Holy Trinity:
Sura 9:31  (they take as their Lord) Christ the son of Mary; yet they were commanded to worship but One Allah: there is no god but He. Praise and glory to Him: (Far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him).

Act 2:36  Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

Phi 2:10  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

Phi 2:11  And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

1Jo 5:7  For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Are we certainly saved?:
No: Sura 5:40  Knowest thou not that to Allah (alone) belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth? He punisheth whom He pleaseth, and He forgiveth whom He pleaseth: and Allah hath power over all things.

Yes: Rom 10:9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Saved by our works or by God’s grace?:
Sura 9:102  Others (there are who) have acknowledged their wrong-doings: they have mixed an act that was good with another that was evil. Perhaps Allah will turn unto them (in Mercy) …

Psa 103:12  As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Eph 2:7  That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

Eph 2:8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Eph 2:9  Not of works, lest any man should boast.

The Covenant with Death:
Sura 9:52 Say: "Can you expect for us (any fate) other than one of two glorious things- (Martyrdom or victory)? But we can expect for you either that Allah will send his punishment from Himself, or by our hands. So wait (expectant); we too will wait with you."

Sura 9:111 Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise ): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: … rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme.

Deu 30:19  I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Isa 28:18  And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand;

Joh 10:10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Christian Voice comment: Allah says: ‘Die for me’.  Jesus says: ‘I died for you.’

Conclusion: The Allah of the Koran and Almighty God as revealed in the Old and New Testaments are different beings with different messages and different agendas.
