London Zoo is holding 'Gay Sunday' on 14th September 2008. For the fourth year in a row, the Zoological Society of London is giving homosexuals a staggering 20% discount,
There will be Gay Sunday events on the Mappin Terraces, with a barbecue and a bar, transvestite entertainers and a homosexual band.
Ordinary people booking for the same day were not told of the discount on the London Zoo website - it costs £11.90, without the voluntary donation, just to get a 3-year-old child into the Zoo. Adults - that's anyone 16 or over - are £15.40.
But those booking online for 'Gay Sunday' got a whopping 20% off. They only paid £12.30, which is £3.10 less than everyone else.
No warning for families
Nor was there any warning on the London Zoo website that this Sunday was one to avoid if you don't like your children being exposed to men dressed up as women and all the decadent depravity of homosexuality.
We say London Zoo should not treat homosexuals as a favoured group. Everyone should get the same discount, and London Zoo shouldn't force homosexuality down the throats of unsuspecting families with children.
Forcing homosexuality on children
Is it too much to ask for London Zoo to treat everyone the same and respect the fact that London Zoo is a family venue? After all, a mere 1% of the population is homosexual. Why should they get preferred treatment? We should be creating a more family-friendly environment to encourage tourists to visit
London
. London Zoo is overwhelmingly patronised by people with children, and is hardly the most appropriate place for a 'Gay Sunday'.
Last year, the Government brought in a law to ban discrimination against homosexuals. Now we see it working out - in
Britain
, homosexuals may not be discriminated against, but a family venue like London Zoo can discriminate in their favour, forcing ordinary people with children into an environment where homosexuality is promoted. Parents wouldn't tolerate that in their children's school. Why tolerate it here? It just isn't right.
The wonders of creation
While you are in the Zoo, you will be amazed at the wonders of creation, but the managers of London Zoo don't quite see it like that. The Zoo is a hot-bed of evolutionism, the bizarre idea that all creation, with its amazing interdependence, just 'happened'.
But evolution has no answer for the amazing beauty and diversity of the animals on display. Sure, we can see that the camouflage of the tiger helps him hunt and the zebra's stripes keep him hidden.
But what possible use is the Scarlet Ibis's flame red plumage, or the bright blue of the Hyacinth Macaw? Why did they end up that colour? Other more mundane birds do a similar job. What is the purpose of the tufts on the head of the Rock Hopper Penguin, or the one on the head of our own Tufted Duck? Or, for that matter, the tail of the Peacock?
Evolutionists say these features help them mate. But starlings and sparrows manage to reproduce in the absence of garish colours or over-the-top tails and tufts!
There has to be a Creator
Then we think of all the interdependence in nature. We look at the Oxpeckers, those birds which feed on the ticks on the backs of Zebras. All three species are interdependent but evolutionists would have us believe they 'evolved' millions of years apart. We think of a certain snake, supposedly a very primitive creature, which only feeds on the more highly 'evolved' bats in caves.
For that matter, what did vultures eat before the mammals which are their prey 'evolved'? How did birds 'evolve' nest-building? How many eggs smashed to the ground before they got it right? Imagine a conversation between two swallows, desperately trying to work out how to stick the mud together. 'I'm sorry about the eggs, darling, it takes time to evolve this nest-building lark.'
The truth is, it all had to be spot-on right from the start, and as you look at the design and the intricacies of creation, it is only rational to decide there must be a Creator.
The wonders of creation
Christians of course believe God is the Almighty Creator of heaven and earth. He is self-existent and the divine intelligence behind all creation, including us and the amazing animals in the Zoo. It is God who gives meaning and reason to life.
Since God created us, He needed to lay down the laws by which we should live. Jesus Christ upheld those laws and spoke against sin. When He said 'Keep the Commandments', he meant we should worship nothing and nobody except God, we should not blaspheme, disrespect parents and those in authority, and not commit murder, adultery, stealing, lying or envy.
Christ also upheld heterosexual love and marriage. 'Have you not read', Jesus asked the Pharisees, 'That he which made them at the beginning made them male and female? And said: For this cause shall a man leave father and mother and cleave to his wife and they twain shall be one flesh?' (Matt 19) And being one flesh in sexual intercourse is what a pair of homosexuals can never do. Even in evolutionary terms, homosexuality is a bleak dead-end!
So homosexuals are going to hell?
All sinners are going to hell. They just wouldn't fit in to heaven because God in all His holiness is there. Hell is the sinner's only possible destination.
But you don't need to go to hell. True, you may feel a long way from God now, but if you repent of all you have done wrong, and call out to Jesus for mercy, He will forgive you. In Jesus, God became one of us, and died on the Cross to make peace with God for all who would believe in Him. When He was crucified, Jesus took our sins upon Him, so those who trust in Him are totally forgiven. You could be one of them, but you have two challenges.
The first is, because you cannot predict the day of your death, you need to turn to Christ now. You can't put off your decision. The second is, to follow Jesus, you have to turn away from all your sin, however nice and comfortable is seems.
'I am the way' says Jesus
However far we go away from God, He will welcome us with open arms if we recognise that we have done wrong and are ready to put things right. Homosexuality is not the unforgivable sin, but surely 'all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.' 'All' means you too, but Jesus has the power to forgive you and give you a new life. Turn from your sins, call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. You can't cover your own sin, because only Jesus Christ is the way to heaven. He said: 'I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.' He also said: 'For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.'
The person who gave you this leaflet cares enough about you to want to meet you again in heaven. There will be a day of judgment. Be cleansed from your sin today. Repent and believe the Gospel.
